Frequently asked questions and answers about visits and the mental health support process

When should you see a mental health specialist?

If you have been experiencing low mood, excessive stress, relationship difficulties or sleep problems for a long time, it is a sign that it is worth consulting a specialist. Help is not just for “serious cases”; it often works best when you act early.

A psychologist deals with psychological diagnosis and provides support and consultation in the area of emotional and cognitive functioning. A psychiatrist, as a physician, makes a medical diagnosis, differentiates mental disorders and, if indicated, implements pharmacological treatment. In clinical practice, these specialists often work together to provide comprehensive and consistent patient care.

No, visits to our center do not require a referral. You can arrange a consultation directly – we will help you choose the right specialist.

The specialist collects information, analyzes reported difficulties, and identifies areas requiring support. On this basis, preliminary recommendations are made regarding further treatment, which may include psychotherapy and/or in-depth diagnostics.
