MD, PhD Jakub Gawryś

Internist, Pulmonologist

I completed my specialization training at the Clinic of Internal Medicine, Occupational Medicine, Arterial Hypertension and Clinical Oncology at the University Clinical Hospital in Wrocław, where, after defending my doctoral dissertation and passing the specialization exam, I continued working as an assistant.

In my work, I prioritize transparent patient communication, collaboration, and communication of the essence and purpose of the proposed treatment. I have particular experience in diagnosing abnormalities in blood counts, fever of unknown origin, shortness of breath, and respiratory failure (including performing lung ultrasound). Additionally, I optimize the treatment of pain, hypertension, and heart failure.

As part of my research, I conduct research on the nitric oxide biotransformation pathway and platelet function in people with type 2 diabetes—the subject of my doctoral dissertation. My team and I are currently working to expand the study group to include additional populations. The goal of this research is to individualize therapy by tailoring the treatment to the individual.
